Overview of Our Training Programs

We are based in Collingwood, Ontario and serve the Southern Georgian Bay area and surrounding region.  Our training techniques are based on positive reinforcement and adhere to LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) principles.  Whether private or group training, we are committed to helping you and your dog achieve your full potential.  For more information, see the Plans & Pricing page.  

For private consultations, we come to you at your preferred location.  We are available most weekday evenings and weekends for your convenience. 

Private training sessions are fully customized to your needs and situation.  Sessions include everyday activities, obedience commands of your choice and minor behaviour issues. 

Unwanted behaviours are stressful for both dogs and their owners. We offer private behavioural dog training sessions tailored to your dog’s unique needs, recognizing that challenges often stem from past experiences or medical issues. We address the root cause(s)—not just the symptoms—using proven methods such as redirection, focused guidance, counter-conditioning, and desensitization to create lasting, positive change. 

Classes are held outdoors on the one-of-a-kind, private River Song property in a stimulating and safe environment.  The location is 4030 Simcoe County Rd 124, Nottawa, ON.  There is parking at the end of the driveway or on Simcoe Rd. 124.  Please do not block other cars or the entrance.

These programs are open to all dogs 13 weeks and older. Currently, we offer Level 1 Basic Obedience, but Intermediate and Advanced classes will be added soon!  The Basic course provides foundational skills for key commands and training.  The later courses extend these skills to more challenging and complex behaviours and situations.  Classes are one hour in length and deliberately kept small so that we can provide personalized attention to each client and dog.  

Puppy Walks is open to dogs between the ages of 13 and 26 weeks and is especially helpful for first-time dog owners.  The program focuses on socialization, some elementary obedience, loose leash pack walks and allows your dog to explore off leash in a safe and enriching outdoor environment.

All clients must sign the Caliper Ridge Dog Training Agreement in advance in order to receive training or services of any kind.  For Group classes and Puppy Walks, the Use of Property Release of Liability Agreement must also be signed in advance.  See the Agreements page for these documents.
